Fitness Tip #16: Morning Walks Help with Sleep

One major lesson I’ve learned on my fitness journey is how beneficial morning walks are to getting to sleep at night. Personally, I’ve struggled with getting enough sleep at night. Then, when I started going on walks early in the morning consistently, I started to feel more energized, and it almost feels like starting an internal clock for the day. By starting the clock early in the day, it really helps with unwinding later in the day and getting some sleep.
I do notice that when I stay away from electronics, such as, phones, TV, and computers late at night that helps. This could be because of the light those electronics emit BUT also could be because there is so much material and options out there now that can catch our attention through social media, shows, movies, and other sources that it’s easy to get drawn into things and spend hours on these devices that could be used for sleeping. Remember, reaching fitness goals and getting enough quality sleep is a priority. The entertaining shows can wait because goals matter more.
Ultimately, I feel going on morning walks have been a great way of getting movement throughout the day and helping with sleep. Making it a great fitness tip when on a fitness journey.
